MINNEAPOLIS – Just hours before a minor soccer match, thousands of dollars of equipment went missing.
A Minneapolis team is now fighting to recover from its recent setback.
The Minneapolis City Soccer Club was not prepared for this kind of theft.
Sarah Schreier said, “I felt sick to my stomach.” I knew what happened pretty quickly.
Volunteers from Augsburg University in Minneapolis arrived two hours before the game to set up on Sunday.
Schreier stated, “There was nothing here. We saw some of our wheelblockers and realized something was missing from our game day.”
The trailer, which was packed with equipment, had disappeared.

She said, “Everything, from our tents to banners and merchandise racks.” “Everything we’ve collected over the past seven years in order to provide a great game-day experience for our supporters.”
The Crows managed to win their game but the volunteer-run 501(c3) club has lost $15,000.
It’s a pretty ramshackle system, and it’s really driven by the people. So it’s silly to say that the ticketing table is important, but it’s not. “That first banner is really hurtful,” said Dan Hoedeman, club co-founder.
The grassroots club is now working to recover from the overwhelming support of the community and donations.
Hoedeman explained, “When you get the support of people at their level, you feel a burst in energy.” “Like, we want to make this even better to thank everyone for their support.”
The soccer club is collecting donations online. You can also come to the game on Wednesday and show your support.
